If you haven’t found a scholarship that fits you, you probably aren’t looking hard enough. The fact of the matter is, there is a plethora of unconventional – and even downright wacky – scholarships available based on everything from your height (seriously) to left handedness to your ability to make the best duck call. Outrageous as they may seem, as long as the money is legit, why not give them a go?

Try a quick Google search to view the numerous lists that detail the availability of such scholarships. If your academic performance alone isn’t enough to land you the scholarship money you were hoping for, perhaps your creativity can secure you $6,000 for designing the best duct-tape prom dress from Stuck-on-Prom, or your penchant for speaking Klingon will finally pay off in the form of the Klingon Language Memorial Institute Scholarship. (Both are real scholarships!)

Contact College Primers  for more information on both conventional and nonconventional scholarship availability. And, as with most steps in the college admissions process, the sooner you get started, the better!
